London General and London Central have been declared finalists for the prestigious UK bus ‘Oscars’, the Bus Industry Awards 2003.

London General’s bus garage in Sutton and London Central’s bus garage in Peckham have both been short listed for the London Bus Garage of the Year Award. The award, which will be presented at the London Hilton hotel on 5 November, will be given to the garage that offers the best quality of service to the travelling public and has the best policies to maintain this level of service.

David Brown, Go Ahead Chief Executive London, said, “London General and London Central are delighted to be finalists in the Bus Industry Awards 2003.”

More than 140 entries were received for the Bus Industry Awards this year, representing 230 different organisations across the UK. BIA Director, Chris Cheek, said “BIA has always maintained that every finalist is a winner, and the results this year prove that point. Such strong competition underlines the exceptional achievement of 2003 finalists.”
